    Role Description The Direct Support Professional is a full-time, on-site role based in Bedford, PA. This position provides daily support to individuals with intellectual disabilities in residential and community settings, including assistance with personal care, activities of daily living, and transportation as needed. The role involves implementing individualized support plans, teaching life skills, and facilitating participation in social, recreational, and employment-related activities. The Direct Support Professional documents services provided, monitors health and safety, and communicates observations to supervisors and clinical team members. The position also includes participating in team meetings, following agency policies and procedures, and supporting a respectful, inclusive environment.

    • Knowledge of Human Services and familiarity with supports for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities.
    • \n
    • Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build trusting, professional relationships.
    • \n
    • Willingness to participate in Training related to care, safety procedures, and agency practices.
    • \n
    • High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in human services or related fields is beneficial.
    • \n
    • Ability to assist with personal care, follow support plans, and maintain accurate documentation.
    • \n
    • Reliable transportation to the Bedford, PA worksite and flexibility to work varied shifts as needed.
    • \n
    • Commitment to person-centered care, respect for individual rights, and maintaining confidentiality.
    • \n
    • Previous experience in direct care, community services, or disability support is preferred but not required.
