Job description:
We are seeking compassionate and dependable individuals to join our client as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). If you have a heart for helping others and want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, this is the job for you. As a DSP, you will play a vital role in providing hands-on support, promoting independence, and enhancing the quality of life for those we serve.
Position Details:
- Direct Hire Opportunity
- Pay: $17-$18
- Schedule: 6am-2:30pm, 2pm-10:30pm, and 10pm-8am shifts available
- Must be able to work rotating weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals in daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, dressing, and medication administration
- Foster a safe, respectful, and supportive environment that promotes independence and self-advocacy
- Build meaningful relationships and encourage community involvement, social interaction, and recreational activities
- Assist individuals with achieving their personal goals and advocate for their choices and needs
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports on individual progress and incidents
- Support behavior management plans and encourage positive behavior
- Work collaboratively with team members, families, and other care professionals to ensure high-quality support
- Communicate with empathy, patience, and respect at all times
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Previous experience in caregiving, social work, or related fields is a plus but not required—a passion for helping people is essential
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (if transportation is required)
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Dependable, patient, and motivated to make a difference in someone’s life
