Everstaff is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for a compassionate and dependable organization in Canal Fulton, OH.

The candidate will provide person-centered care and daily support to individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. This role is responsible for assisting clients with activities of daily living, promoting independence, ensuring health and safety, and fostering meaningful community involvement. 

The ideal candidate is patient, reliable, and committed to empowering individuals to achieve their personal goals while maintaining their dignity and quality of life.

Direct Hire Opportunity!
Pay: $17-$18/hr
Schedule: 2nd and 3rd shifts

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care and assistance with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and mobility.
  • Support individuals in developing life skills that encourage independence and self-sufficiency.
  • Administer or assist with medication according to established policies and physician instructions.
  • Monitor clients' health, behavior, and overall well-being, reporting concerns to supervisors or healthcare professionals as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, progress notes, medication administration, and incident reports.
  • Accompany individuals to medical appointments, community outings, recreational activities, and other scheduled events.
  • Implement individualized service plans and behavioral support strategies while encouraging client participation in goal achievement.
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with clients, families, guardians, and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive living environment while ensuring compliance with agency policies and state regulations.
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations and follow established safety protocols.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; additional education in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in caregiving, direct support, healthcare, or human services preferred but not always required.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain patient, compassionate, and professional while supporting individuals with varying needs.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to complete documentation accurately.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record may be required depending on the position.
  • Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and any required state certifications or training.
