Everstaff is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for a compassionate and dependable organization in Canal Fulton, OH.
The candidate will provide person-centered care and daily support to individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. This role is responsible for assisting clients with activities of daily living, promoting independence, ensuring health and safety, and fostering meaningful community involvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and assistance with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and mobility.
- Support individuals in developing life skills that encourage independence and self-sufficiency.
- Administer or assist with medication according to established policies and physician instructions.
- Monitor clients' health, behavior, and overall well-being, reporting concerns to supervisors or healthcare professionals as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, progress notes, medication administration, and incident reports.
- Accompany individuals to medical appointments, community outings, recreational activities, and other scheduled events.
- Implement individualized service plans and behavioral support strategies while encouraging client participation in goal achievement.
- Build positive, respectful relationships with clients, families, guardians, and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive living environment while ensuring compliance with agency policies and state regulations.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations and follow established safety protocols.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; additional education in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in caregiving, direct support, healthcare, or human services preferred but not always required.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain patient, compassionate, and professional while supporting individuals with varying needs.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to complete documentation accurately.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record may be required depending on the position.
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and any required state certifications or training.
