Direct Support Professional

A Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides hands-on care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities or other needs to help them live as independently and safely as possible. DSPs assist with daily living activities such as personal care, medication reminders, meal preparation, transportation, and community involvement. They also implement behavior supports, ensure health and safety, document services accurately, and communicate with families and the care team. The role focuses on promoting dignity, choice, inclusion, and person-centered outcomes for each individual served.
