    The Direct Support Professional helps people with disabilities live safely and comfortably in their homes and the community. You’ll help with daily needs, household tasks, and community activities while keeping the home clean, safe, and well-organized. You’ll also follow each person’s care plan and work with your team to make sure everyone gets the care and respect they deserve.

    What you'll do:

    • Follow and carry out each person’s Individual Support Plan (ISP).
    • Help with housekeeping tasks to keep the home clean, safe, and healthy.
    • Take individuals to medical appointments and make sure all paperwork is done correctly.
    • Handle and track household and personal funds responsibly.
    • Complete all required paperwork and documentation clearly and on time.
    • Take part in fire drills and know what to do in an emergency.
    • Drive residents to appointments, activities, and community events; keep the vehicle clean and complete van logs.
    • Plan and support community activities that match each person’s goals and interests.
    • Follow all medication rules, including ordering, logging, and administering medication.
    • Know and follow Saint Joseph’s Center and state regulations.
    • Share important updates at shift changes and record notes in the communication log.
    • Work cooperatively with coworkers and supervisors and maintain a respectful, positive home environment.
    • Be flexible with tasks, schedules, and priorities.
    • Arrive on time and ready to work.

    What's required of you:

    • High School Diploma or GED

    • Must be at least 18 years old

    • Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License

    • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is helpful, but not required

    • Able to sit, stand, and walk for several hours each day

    • Able to lift or move up to 50 pounds when needed

    • Able to bend, squat, or kneel as part of daily care
