Direct Support Professional DSP

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Medication Administration Training (MAT) certification preferred or ability to become certified.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and required screenings.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to assist with activities of daily living and provide personal care as needed.
• Ability to lift, transfer, and support individuals safely.
• Experience implementing behavior support plans is a plus.
• Positive attitude, patience, and a heart for serving others.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support and supervision to adults with disabilities.
• Assist with personal care and medication administration as authorized.
• Complete daily documentation and progress notes accurately.
• Facilitate recreational, educational, and community-based activities.
• Promote independence, dignity, and individual choice.
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all individuals served.
• Work collaboratively with families, support coordinators, and team members.

Preferred Training and Certifications:

• CPR/First Aid Certification
• Medication Administration Training (MAT)
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) or similar behavioral training
• Experience with developmental disabilities, autism, and behavioral support
• DSP or human services experience preferred

Pay: Competitive and based on experience.
