Direct Support Professional-Friday-Sunday 8pm-8am

About the Role:
Housing Advocacy Vocational and Employment (HAVE) is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team in Gaithersburg, MD. This weekend overnight position (Friday–Sunday, 8PM–8AM) is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities during overnight shifts
• Assist residents with daily living activities including personal hygiene, meals, and mobility
• Monitor and ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all individuals throughout the shift
• Implement individualized support plans and document progress accurately
• Respond to behavioral or medical situations calmly and appropriately, following established protocols
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive residential environment
• Communicate effectively with team members during shift transitions and handoffs

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Prior experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred
• Ability to work overnight weekend shifts (Friday–Sunday, 8PM–8AM)
• Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, empathetic, and person-centered approach
• Ability to pass a background check and meet state compliance requirements
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently during overnight hours
