Job Overview – Direct Support Professional
Compensation: $20 – $22/hour
Location: Beaver County, PA
Schedule: Night Shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Direct Support Professional in Beaver County, PA for our client, supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within community-based residential settings. This PRN opportunity offers flexible scheduling across multiple group home locations while providing direct care, daily living support, and community engagement services. The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, and committed to promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life for individuals receiving services.

Responsibilities as the Direct Support Professional:
  • Direct Care Support: Assist individuals with daily living activities, personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks while promoting independence.
  • Individual Support Planning: Follow individualized support plans and assist residents in achieving personal, behavioral, and social goals.
  • Community Engagement: Support participation in recreational activities, community outings, social development, and skill-building opportunities.
  • Behavioral Support: Encourage positive communication, emotional support, and appropriate social interactions within residential and community settings.
  • Residential Assistance: Support housekeeping, laundry, organization, and maintenance of safe and clean living environments.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Complete daily documentation, progress notes, and incident reporting while maintaining compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

Qualifications for the Direct Support Professional:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience: 1+ years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, or residential care environments is preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of community-based support services, daily living assistance, and person-centered care practices is required.
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer skills and the ability to complete documentation and reporting requirements are required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, reliability, teamwork abilities, and the ability to support individuals in a compassionate and respectful manner are required.
  • Licensure: Valid driver’s license is required.
