Direct Support Professional-Multiple Shifts Availble

About the Role:
Housing Advocacy Vocational and Employment (HAVE) is looking for compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to join our team in LaPlata, MD! With multiple shifts available, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities while building a rewarding career in human services.



Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings
• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility
• Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately
• Facilitate community integration activities and promote client independence
• Administer medications and monitor health needs in accordance with care plans
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Respond to behavioral support needs using approved techniques and protocols

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Prior experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, or overnights
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
