Job Overview – Direct Support Professional (Part-Time)
Compensation: $20 – $22/hour
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Weekend Night Shift, 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM

TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Direct Support Professional (Part-Time) in Philadelphia, PA for our client, supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within a residential care environment. This role focuses on providing direct care, behavioral support, and daily living assistance while helping individuals build independence, communication skills, and community engagement. The ideal candidate will bring prior direct support experience, experience working with dual diagnosis populations, and a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.

Responsibilities as the Direct Support Professional:
  • Direct Care Support: Assist individuals with personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, and daily living activities while promoting independence.
  • Behavioral Support: Support individuals with behavioral, emotional, and developmental needs while encouraging positive communication and coping skills.
  • Individual Support Planning: Follow individualized support plans and assist residents in achieving personal, social, and community-based goals.
  • Community Engagement: Encourage participation in recreational activities, social interaction, and skill-building opportunities within residential and community settings.
  • Residential Assistance: Maintain safe, organized, and supportive living environments while monitoring residents’ overall well-being.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Complete daily documentation, progress notes, and incident reporting in accordance with organizational and program requirements.

Qualifications for the Direct Support Professional:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience: 2+ years of direct field support, behavioral health, residential care, or related experience is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience working with behavioral health, developmental disabilities, and community-based support populations is required.
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer skills and the ability to complete documentation and reporting requirements are required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, reliability, teamwork abilities, and the ability to support individuals in a compassionate and respectful manner are required.
  • Licensure: Valid driver’s license is required.
