Direct Support ProfessionalJob SummaryRockwell Care Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes and throughout the community.Direct Support Professionals assist individuals with daily living activities, personal care, community participation, and skill development while following individualized support plans. This position works closely with individuals to promote independence and support their personal goals.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include:Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs)Provide companionship and emotional supportAssist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygienePrepare meals and assist with meal planningPerform light housekeepingProvide medication remindersTransport individuals to appointments, community activities, and errandsSupport participation in recreational, educational, and community activitiesAssist individuals in developing daily living and independent living skillsFollow individualized support plans and program guidelinesComplete required documentation accurately and on timeMaintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environmentCommunicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and family members, as appropriateFollow established procedures during emergenciesQualificationsApplicants must:Be at least 18 years of ageHave a high school diploma or GEDPossess a valid driver's licenseHave access to a reliable, insured vehicleDemonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrate professionalism and effective decision-makingBe dependable and able to work independently and as part of a teamPrevious experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Caregiver, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide, Personal Care Assistant, or in a related healthcare or human services position is preferred but not required.Paid training is provided.BenefitsEligible employees may receive:Paid trainingFlexible schedulingPaid staff meetingsEmployee recognition programsAdvancement opportunitiesAbout Rockwell Care ServicesRockwell Care Services provides residential and community-based services for individuals with developmental disabilities throughout Southeast Idaho.
