    Role Description The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is a part-time, on-site role located in San Gabriel, CA. In this position, the DSP supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks. The role involves promoting independence, teaching life skills, and assisting with community integration such as outings, appointments, and recreational activities. The DSP will follow individual service plans, document progress, and communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and families. The position also includes participating in training, maintaining a safe environment, and responding to behavioral or medical needs in accordance with company policies.

    Qualifications

    • Experience or education in Human Services and working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities.
    • \n
    • Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities for effective interaction with clients, families, and colleagues.
    • \n
    • Ability to participate in and apply Training related to person-centered care, safety, and behavioral support.
    • \n
    • Reliability, professionalism, and a commitment to respecting individual rights and cultural differences.
    • \n
    • High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in social services, psychology, or related fields is beneficial.
    • \n
    • Ability to work on-site in San Gabriel, CA, including evenings or weekends as needed.
    • \n
    • Basic documentation and computer skills for recording services and progress notes.
    • \n
    • CPR/First Aid certification and a valid driver’s license are preferred.
