Direct Support Professional-Saturday & Sunday 8 am - 8 pm

About the Role:
Housing Advocacy Vocational and Employment is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team in Gaithersburg, MD! This weekend position (Saturday & Sunday, 8 AM – 8 PM) is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities. Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Assist clients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility
• Implement individualized support plans and document progress accurately
• Facilitate community integration and recreational activities during weekend shifts
• Administer medications and monitor health needs in accordance with care plans
• Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive living environment for all residents
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and family members regarding client well-being

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Prior experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour weekend shifts (Saturday & Sunday, 8 AM – 8 PM)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, empathetic demeanor
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Must pass background check and meet state DSP requirements in Maryland
