    JOB SUMMARY:

    Post University seeks an innovative and hands-on professional to serve as the Director, Academic Technology & Digital Learning Experience. This position is responsible for advancing the University's academic technology ecosystem through the evaluation, implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of technologies that support teaching, learning, student engagement, and academic success.

    Working closely with faculty, academic leadership, Information Technology, engineers, and external partners, the Director identifies opportunities for improvement, manages technology initiatives, and delivers solutions that enhance the student and faculty experience.

    The position is responsible for managing technology-related projects, supporting system enhancements, evaluating emerging tools, coordinating implementation efforts, monitoring performance and adoption metrics, and ensuring alignment between academic priorities and technology capabilities. The Director serves as a key partner in driving innovation through execution, delivering measurable improvements that enhance learning outcomes, and operational effectiveness.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Artificial Intelligence & Emerging Technologies

    • Evaluate, pilot, and implement artificial intelligence and emerging technology solutions that support teaching, learning, student success, and institutional effectiveness.

    • Design and manage proof-of-concept initiatives; pilot programs to assess scalability, effectiveness, impact, and risk.

    • Develop practical guidance, resources, and recommendations that support responsible and effective AI adoption.

    • Support faculty and staff experimentation through consultation, demonstrations, training, and implementation support.

    • Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and evolving best practices related to artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in higher education.

    • Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies that enhance academic quality, operational effectiveness, and student experience.

    • Academic Technology & Digital Innovation

    • Collaborate with engineers, developers, system administrators, and vendors in Planning, Requirements, Design, Implementation, Testing, Deployment, Maintenance.

    • Gather business requirements from faculty, students, and university stakeholders and translate them into technical specifications, workflows, and implementation plans.

    • Coordinate system enhancements, integrations, automations, and user experience improvements across the academic technology ecosystem.

    • Conduct testing, validation, and quality assurance activities to ensure solutions meet functional and user requirements.

    • Maintain project backlogs, priorities, implementation schedules, and release plans.

    • Identify opportunities to improve system effectiveness, efficiency, adoption, and user satisfaction.

    • Digital Learning Experience

    • Design, implement, and continuously improve digital learning experiences across online and campus-based programs.

    • Conduct usability reviews and gather feedback from students and faculty.

    • Identify process bottlenecks, technology pain points, and barriers to adoption and implement solutions that improve usability, accessibility, and engagement.

    • Partner with faculty and instructional designers to improve digital teaching, learning, and engagement practices.

    • Apply learner-centered design, user experience (UX), and learning experience design (LXD) principles to improve academic experiences.

    • Blackboard Ultra & Academic Technology Product Management

    • Serve as the primary academic administrator and product owner for Blackboard Ultra and related learning technologies.

    • Manage enhancement requests, release planning, testing, implementation activities, and user adoption efforts.

    • Coordinate system improvements with Information Technology, vendors, faculty, and academic stakeholders.

    • Ensure alignment among learning technologies, student success systems, CRM platforms, and other academic technologies.

    • Support technology integrations and process improvements across the student lifecycle.

    • Utilize product management principles to prioritize initiatives, establish roadmaps, and support technology investment decisions.

    • Monitor system usage, adoption trends, support metrics, and user feedback and implement improvements as needed.

    • Track project milestones, outcomes, and adoption metrics to measure effectiveness and impact.

    • Collaboration, Partnerships & Continuous Improvement

    • Foster collaboration among Academic Affairs, Information Technology, Student Success, Enrollment Management, Operations, and other university stakeholders.

    • Participate in vendor evaluations, solution reviews, and technology selection processes.

    • Build and maintain productive relationships with technology vendors and external partners.

    • Support change management, communication, and adoption efforts related to academic technology initiatives.

    • Promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and data-informed decision-making.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree (required). The candidate will bring 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, academic technology, digital learning, instructional technology, product management, learning management systems, or educational innovation. Experience leading institution-wide technology initiatives that support teaching, learning, student engagement, and academic success is required.

    The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in learning management systems, preferably Blackboard Ultra, academic technology ecosystems, Salesforce or comparable CRM platforms, technology integration, learning experience design (LXD), user experience (UX), artificial intelligence applications in education, Agile project management, product roadmapping, and organizational change management.

    Experience evaluating emerging technologies, managing technology vendors and partnerships, developing technology strategies, and leading cross-functional initiatives involving Academic Affairs and Information Technology is strongly preferred. Experience supporting online and campus-based learning environments is required. Relevant certifications in Agile, Scrum, Project Management, Change Management, Salesforce, Blackboard, or related disciplines are preferred.
