ABOUT THE ROLE

A leading global financial institution is seeking a Head of Accounts Payable to lead Accounts Payable and vendor lifecycle operations across the Americas. This leadership role will oversee AP operations, vendor governance, controls, compliance, process transformation, and payment operations while managing a large team in a highly regulated financial services environment.

The position offers significant exposure to senior leadership and ownership of strategic initiatives involving Oracle, Coupa, automation, and operational excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead Accounts Payable operations and vendor lifecycle management across the Americas region
  • Oversee end-to-end invoice-to-pay processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payment execution
  • Manage vendor onboarding, vendor master governance, and third-party payment controls
  • Establish and maintain AP policies, procedures, controls, and governance frameworks
  • Monitor KPIs, SLAs, operational metrics, and executive reporting related to AP performance
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end AP close activities
  • Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and transformation projects across the AP function
  • Partner with Accounting, Tax, Treasury, HR, Legal, Operations, Technology, and business stakeholders
  • Manage Oracle EBS/Fusion and Coupa-related AP processes and system enhancements
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax regulations, SOX controls, and audit standards
  • Lead audit, regulatory, and compliance reviews related to AP operations
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing team of AP professionals and managers
  • Drive root-cause analysis and remediation of operational issues and control deficiencies

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • 10+ years of Accounts Payable, Procure-to-Pay, Shared Services, or Finance Operations leadership experience
  • Prior experience within banking, financial services, asset management, insurance, or other regulated financial institutions
  • Experience managing large teams, including managers and operational staff
  • Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable operations, vendor management, and payment processing
  • Expertise with Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Fusion Cloud, and/or Coupa
  • Experience with AP automation, workflow optimization, and process transformation initiatives
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, SOX compliance, audit requirements, and risk management
  • Knowledge of tax regulations, vendor compliance, and third-party risk management frameworks
  • Experience with cloud migrations, shared services environments, or finance transformation projects
  • Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
  • Series 99 license or willingness to obtain preferred
  • Exposure to Regulation W and intercompany transaction governance is a plus
