Job Overview:

The Director of Accounts Receivable is responsible for the successful delivery of the accounts receivable transaction services from the global client accounting team. They will partner with the Senior Director of Accounts Receivable to build and structure the global accounts receivable team to deliver resident billings, collections, payment processing, developer and resident support.  The role will be overseeing several markets.  The ideal candidate will be a strategic and results-driven leader who will lead the transformation, standardization, and optimization of accounts receivable and collections operations across regions, ensuring excellence in service delivery, compliance, and stakeholder satisfaction. The role requires strong leadership, deep process expertise, and the ability to scale accounts receivable and collections functions in a global and dynamic business environment.

 

Your Responsibilities:

People Management

  • Lead and oversee the accounts receivable shared services teams throughout various markets.
  • Attracts, develops and retains diverse, high caliber talent, while developing an engaged team to build the capabilities required for the organization to perform at high levels. 
  • Promotes a culture of collaboration, trust and support.
  • Provides ongoing support with training and coaching.
  • Clearly defines and communicates performance responsibilities, goals, expectations and objectives.
  • Regularly evaluate teams to determine performance and whether company standards for professionalism, attendance, and work performance are met. If expectations are not met, are responsible for coaching and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct ongoing performance management activities by providing constructive feedback and coaching through regular check-ins, structured one-on-meetings, mid-year touchpoints and annual reviews.

 

Operations

  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline, scale, and standardize accounts receivable and collection processes in alignment with the global center of excellence vision.
  • Partner with global and regional leadership and teams to build strong relationships and ensure accounts receivable and collection service delivery meets agreed standards and expectations.
  • Evaluate and recommend the optimal outsourcing model to enhance efficiency and elevate service levels within the AR function.
  • Identify revenue enhancement opportunities and cost recovery initiatives within the accounts receivable and collections functions.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’sdegree inAccounting orFinance,froman accredited college oruniversity, and minimumof 5 yearsofsupervisoryresponsibility with 5 years ofleadingcustomerserviceteams in shared service environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates thoughtful leadership in creating efficiencies and process improvements.
  • Detail oriented and strong organizational skills and multi-tasking skills.
  • Project management experience with focus on process improvement
  • Must have strong proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office, including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheet maintenance, navigating in databases, record keeping and researching the Internet.
  • Ability to work with sensitive or confidential information.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently and be self-driven
  • Critical thinking, financial acumen, problem solving and decision-making abilities.

Physical Requirements:

This position works under usual office conditions. The employee is required to work at a personal computer as well as be on the phone for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand, sit and walk and occasionally climb. The incumbent must be able to work extended and flexible hours and weekends as needed. Physical demands include ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
