    Job Descriptions - Human Resources Department Revised on 7/21/2026 Position: Director of AI Strategy and Digital Transformation Department/Campus: Central Office / Superintendent's Office Reports to: Superintendent FLSA Status: Exempt Pay Grade: Band 2 Job Type: Full Time Work Hours: Normal Work hours / 215 days JOB GOAL The Director of AI Strategy and Digital Transformation serves as Harmony Public Schools' chief architect of organization-wide artificial intelligence adoption and digital modernization. Reporting directly to the Superintendent, this role sets the strategic direction for how AI reshapes district operations, instructional systems, talent development, and community engagement across all Harmony campuses. The Director leads enterprise AI governance, drives cross-functional digital transformation initiatives, and ensures HPS remains at the national forefront of responsible and mission-aligned AI implementation in K-12 education. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: o Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university o Minimum 2 years of professional or administrative experience o Master's degree in Education, Business Administration, Computer Science, Organizational Leadership, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred) o Progressive leadership experience in strategic planning, digital transformation, or enterprise technology implementation, preferably in a K-12 or public sector setting (preferred) o Demonstrated experience leading large-scale organizational change initiatives, including technology adoption, staff development, and stakeholder communication across diverse communities (preferred) o Experience developing and implementing AI governance frameworks, data privacy policies, and responsible AI use standards in compliance with FERPA, COPPA, and applicable state regulations (preferred) o Experience managing strategic partnerships, vendor negotiations, and grant-funded technology programs; strong background in program evaluation and performance reporting (preferred) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: o Understands and supports the mission, vision and values of Harmony Public Schools. o Develops, maintains, and advances the HPS AI Vision and Digital Transformation Roadmap in alignment with the 2030 Strategic Plan; presents progress and strategic recommendations directly to the Superintendent. o Leads enterprise AI governance across the districts, including the design and enforcement of AI Acceptable Use Policies for students, staff, and vendors; and coordinates with legal, compliance, and data privacy functions. o Leads the development of AI-powered operational systems across district functions including HR, finance, enrollment, student services, and family communications, ensuring ethical and cost-effective AI deployment. o Designs and scales cross-functional AI professional learning systems, including the HPS AI Ambassador Network, leadership AI academies, and district-wide digital fluency initiatives for all staff classifications. o Leads district-wide digital infrastructure transformation efforts, including system integration, cloud adoption, learning management systems, and interoperability of student data platforms in alignment with instructional and operational goals. o Manages strategic technology partnerships, enterprise AI platform agreements, and AI vendor vetting and approval processes; ensures contractual compliance, data security, and alignment with HPS instructional priorities. o Serves as the district's primary responsible party for the implementation and outcome fulfillment of all AI-related grants, leads all grant project management activities including milestone tracking, platform deployment timelines, budget expenditure monitoring, and funder reporting; ensures grant outcomes and deliverables are met on schedule and documented with verifiable evidence. o Identifies and pursues new AI-related grant and philanthropic funding opportunities; manages ongoing grant compliance, annual performance reporting, and external partner accountability across all AI program investments contingent upon final approval from the superintendent. o Coordinates community and family digital transformation engagement, including Parent Tech Nights, community AI literacy programming, and public-facing transparency efforts related to student data and AI use. o Collaborates with the Deputy Superintendents and other department heads to integrate AI strategy with instructional design, staffing, and campus support functions, operations, etc. o Supervises AI strategy staff, program managers, and contractors; performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent. o Performs other duties as assigned.     Job Descriptions - Human Resources Department Revised on 7/21/2026 o Familiarity with Texas legislative requirements for AI use in public education, including Texas Government Code and related accountability frameworks. o Visionary strategic thinking with the ability to translate a complex AI landscape into a clear, actionable, and community-aligned district transformation agenda. o Deep knowledge of enterprise AI platforms, generative AI tools, emerging technologies, and their responsible application across K-12 operational and instructional contexts. o Proven ability to lead organizational change and digital adoption at scale across a large, geographically distributed workforce and campus network. o Strong data literacy and ability to design and interpret enterprise AI performance dashboards, predictive analytics, and research-based program evaluation frameworks. o Expertise in AI governance, data privacy compliance (FERPA, COPPA), responsible AI principles, and applicable Texas legislative requirements for public education AI systems. o Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills; ability to manage complex multi-year initiatives across multiple departments, vendors, and external partners. o Knowledge of grant management, budget oversight, and fiscal compliance for technology and AI-related programs in a public education setting. o Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district. o Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district. o Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone. o Ability to analyze data and generate reports. o Ability to use effective interview techniques, effective public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: o Light Work: may require the occasional light lifting. o Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required. o Position is in office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location. o Excessive travel is required.
