    Job Description

     Job Description:

We're looking for a Director of Business Operations to own and scale our client's Northern California region end-to-end. This is a true GM seat: you'll inherit a ~$10M ARR market with a path to $70M+, lead a team of 10+, and run the P&L, strategy, and day-to-day operations for ~40 physician relationships across the region.

    Responsibilities:

Own the NorCal P&L — drive regional growth, physician satisfaction, and operational efficiency across all clinic sites
Manage and grow a team of 10+ (onboarding specialists, on-site day specialists, hourly staff), with 3–6 additional hires planned over the next six months
Visit physician practices and clinic sites weekly to ensure facilities are stocked, operational, and delivering a great experience
Build deep physician relationships to sustain zero churn and drive referral-based growth
Partner with product and engineering to spot automation opportunities and roll out AI-native workflows without sacrificing quality

    Experience:

P&L ownership — you've directly managed revenue and costs for a region or business unit, not just advised on them
Management experience — this is not a first-time manager role; you'll inherit 10+ direct reports on day one
Consulting background (MBB strongly preferred) with a transition into hands-on operating roles at high-growth startups or marketplaces
Degree from a top-tier university; the bulk of your career experience should be US-based
Willingness to be boots-on-the-ground — expect ~70% hands-on execution early on, regular travel to clinic sites, and a "whatever it takes" mindset at a 30-person company (dealbreaker)
    Experience tiers
Tier 1: Consulting (MBB or Big 4) operations/strategy at a Series A–D startup (e.g., Scale AI)
Tier 2: Operations/strategy at a marketplace (Uber, DoorDash, Lyft, Instacart, Airbnb)
Baseline: 2+ years managing a small team of full-time employees or contractors

    Seniority

7–12 years in operations/strategy roles; ideally consulting operations/strategy at a Series A–D startup

    Education:

Top-25 U.S. university (flexible for exceptionally strong work experience)

    Hard skills:

Has directly owned a P&L for a region or business unit — managed revenue and costs, not just advised
Actively uses AI tools to build and improve operational workflows from scratch

    Nice to have:

Experience at a healthcare/health-tech company (e.g., Abby Care)
    Top-25 MBA
