A 238-bed acute care hospital in Panama City, FL is seeking a Director of Cardiac Care Med Surg. The facility holds accreditation as a Comprehensive Breast Care Center and an Accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and Resuscitation, along with Advanced Primary Stroke Care certification. It is also home to the region's only Level III NICU, Pediatric ICU, and dedicated Pediatric Emergency Room.

The role. The Director of Cardiac Care Med Surg provides leadership over the planning, management, and day-to-day coordination of the cardiac care and medical-surgical unit, with accountability for operational efficiency and financial stewardship aligned to facility-wide goals. The director develops systems that support seamless patient flow across the continuum of care and facilitates comprehensive education programs for both patients and staff. Working in close collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, the director leads multi-disciplinary care conferences for high-risk and medically complex patients and oversees research projects conducted under IRB oversight. The director also evaluates emerging technology and services, makes recommendations for adoption, and directs short- and long-range program planning. People-leadership responsibilities include interviewing and selecting staff, reviewing performance evaluations, and providing guidance to supervisors and frontline team members.

What we're looking for.
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Active licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
  • 5 or more years of recent acute care RN leadership experience (within the last year)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, or BCLS Instructor certification, must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Schedule. This is a full-time day-shift position.
