    Description

    Job Description:

    Summary:

The New York Mets deliver unforgettable experiences to millions of fans each season at Citi Field and beyond. Our Ballpark Experience team shapes every aspect of that experience—from food and beverage to retail, live entertainment, and hospitality. We pride ourselves on teamwork, innovation, and a relentless commitment to being the best to work with in sports and entertainment.

The New York Mets are seeking a dynamic, service-driven Director, Catering & Hospitality to lead the food-and-beverage experience for all non-baseball events at Citi Field. Serving as the primary liaison between Willets Point Entertainment (WPE) and Aramark, this individual will oversee catering sales, planning, and assist with on-site execution—ensuring that every event delivers a best-in-class hospitality experience while driving operational excellence and incremental F&B revenue. The ideal candidate brings equal strength in client relations, event execution, sales, and operational leadership, embodying the Mets’ standard of hospitality excellence.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

    • Lead food-and-beverage planning, sales, and execution for all non-baseball events in partnership with WPE and Aramark

    • Partner with WPE once events are confirmed to discuss menus, create proposals, and provide pricing guidance for the catering component

    • Oversee the full catering process—from BEO creation, on-site execution and post-event reconciliation

    • Build and leverage strategic relationships across agencies, planners, hospitality groups, and industry communities to showcase Citi Field’s food & beverage capabilities, expanding visibility and strengthening brand positioning

    • Collaborate with Aramark’s culinary, premium, and operations teams to maintain exceptional service standards and consistency across all venues

    • Drive food-and-beverage innovation through menu ideation, presentation, and guest-satisfaction initiatives

    • Maintain clear communication with clients and internal partners throughout the event lifecycle, ensuring expectations are met or exceeded

    • Support long-term hospitality initiatives including club enhancements, suite menu updates, and capital-improvement projects

    • Coordinate with Ballpark Operations, Security, and Guest Experience to ensure smooth F&B logistics (power, vendor access, load-in/out)

    • Track performance metrics, budgets, and client feedback to inform future improvements and growth opportunities

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred

    • 7+ years of progressive experience in premium hospitality, catering operations, or large-venue F&B sales/management

    • Proven ability to manage both the sales and operational components of high-volume events

    • Deep understanding of catering financials, forecasting, and cost-control strategies

    • Excellent communication, organization, and client-service skills

    • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams in fast-paced event environments

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with catering or event-management software preferred

    • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and non-traditional hours as required by the event schedule

    Core Competencies & Attributes

    • Hospitality-First Leader: Champions guest satisfaction and service excellence in every interaction

    • Operational Expert: Balances strategic vision with hands-on execution and attention to detail

    • Collaborative Partner: Works seamlessly with WPE, Aramark, and Mets departments to deliver outstanding results

    • Sales-Minded Operator: Identifies and captures opportunities that enhance revenue without compromising service quality

    • Composed & Professional: Maintains calm, solution-oriented leadership in high-pressure situations
