The Director of Change Management leads Hanger’s enterprise change management function, setting the strategic direction for how change is planned, managed, and sustained across the organization’s transformation portfolio. This role is accountable for the team’s methodology, capability, capacity deployment, and overall contribution to business outcomes.
The Director will report to the VP of Enterprise Transformation and partner closely with EPMO and senior business leaders to ensure change management is meaningfully integrated into enterprise governance, program delivery, and leadership decision-making. This leader is responsible for developing the team’s Change Partners, building enterprise change maturity, and representing the CM function as a strategic asset to the organization.
Your Impact
- Define and continuously evolve the strategic direction of Hanger’s change management function, ensuring alignment with enterprise transformation priorities and the organization’s change maturity trajectory.
- Establish and govern the team’s methodology, operating model, and quality standards and create a consistent, credible, and scalable approach to CM delivery across the portfolio.
- Serve as a member of the Enterprise Transformation leadership team, contributing to collective decisions about governance, program direction, and functional integration
- Maintain accountability for change management quality and adoption outcomes across the full enterprise initiative portfolio.
- Establish and monitor the framework through which CM support levels are determined, reviewed, and adjusted, ensuring deployment decisions are defensible, consistent, and strategically informed.
- Partner with EPMO leadership on benefits realization management, ensuring adoption KPIs are defined during Discovery and tracked through project closure.
- Lead, develop, and retain a team of Change Management professionals and create a culture of excellence, learning, and shared accountability for adoption outcomes.
- Design the team’s capability development roadmap, including individual growth plans, methodology training, and succession preparation.
- Drive enterprise change maturity by building leadership capability across business functions, reducing long-term dependency on embedded CM support through structured sponsor enablement and self-service tools.
- Serve as the primary change management advisor to executive sponsors, senior operating committee members, and functional leaders navigating significant transformation.
- Establish deep, durable partnerships with EPMO, IT, HR, and other functions to ensure change management is integrated early and consistently into program lifecycle governance.
- Align CM frameworks with EPMO’s project delivery methodology, ensuring intake, readiness, and sustainability practices are embedded.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field required. Master’s degree strongly preferred.
- CCMP or equivalent advanced certification preferred. Change management certification (e.g., Prosci, ACMP) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in change management roles, including at least 5 years in a leadership or management position.
- Demonstrated experience building or significantly maturing a change management function.
- Experience operating in complex, matrixed healthcare or similarly regulated organizations at the enterprise transformation level preferred.
- Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.

- Expert-level knowledge of change management principles, methodology, and enterprise application, including deep proficiency in Prosci/ADKAR and fluency in complementary frameworks.
- Demonstrated track record of building and maturing a change management function in a complex organization.
- Proven ability to influence the executive level and to translate change management concepts into business terms that resonate with senior leaders.
- Strong operational leadership capabilities: managing a team, allocating capacity, setting performance expectations, and holding others accountable.
