Purpose:
The Regional Director, Clinical Professional Development, provides direct oversight of implementation of clinical education curriculum for UPMC Presbyterian, Shadyside, and Western Psychiatric hospitals. Develops and interprets organizational policies for budgets and personnel within assigned scope; analyzes and evaluates activities to ensure established quality of patient care. Maintains accountability for leading and managing the human resources, clinical, financial, and administrative operations of the department to continuously improve the quality of patient care and create a healthy workplace for staff in collaboration with organizational leadership.
The Director will have the opportunity to influence clinical education strategy across a large, integrated healthcare system, as well as shaping workforce development, retention, onboarding, and professional growth initiatives for nursing and clinical teams. This is a high visibility role that collaborates frequently with nursing executives, operational leaders, and system stakeholders. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR certification required. UPMC approved certification preferred. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
