Immunocore is a commercial-stage biotechnology company that discovered the world's first approved T cell receptor (TCR) therapy. The company is experiencing growth through commercialization of that TCR therapy and has an impressive and innovative pipeline of new medicines in Oncology, Autoimmune Diseases, and Infectious Diseases. The company has had very impressive growth to date, with further and aspiring growth plans enabled by the potential launch of new indications and medicines.
Immunocore has ambitious growth objectives in Corporate Business Development. This involves the identification of key strategic partnerships globally that will include licensing-based collaborations, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and commercial partnerships. These are all important components of the strategy of the company.
Reporting to the Head of Business Development, the Director Corporate Business Development will be a key member of the team responsible for both shaping and executing on the Business Development strategy to drive Immunocore's growth. This individual will lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of licensing, collaboration, and M&A opportunities that complement and expand Immunocore's TCR platform and therapeutic pipeline. The role requires a sophisticated blend of scientific literacy, financial acumen, deal making skills and the ability to operate effectively in a highly cross-functional global organization.
The role offers the opportunity to directly influence corporate strategy and shape the future pipeline at Immunocore, with meaningful visibility to senior leadership and tangible impact on patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and evaluate external opportunities across oncology, and autoimmune indications, including platform technologies, early-stage assets, and late-stage/commercial products;
- Translate corporate strategy into actionable search criteria; assessing how opportunities enhance Immunocore's pipeline, platform capabilities, or commercial footprint;
- Lead transactions end-to-end, including initial outreach, term sheet development, negotiation, and contract execution for licensing, collaborations, and acquisitions;
- Coordinate diligence efforts across R&D, clinical, regulatory, manufacturing, commercial, legal, and finance teams;
- Prepare and present investment cases to senior leadership and executive committees; support Board-level materials as needed;
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with biotech companies, academic institutions, venture investors, and advisors to position Immunocore as a partner of choice.

Essential Qualifications:
- Ideal candidate must have strong scientific background paired with business acumen;
- Bachelors degree in science, finance, business administration, or related field;
- Keen understanding of biological therapeutics, including evaluation of both pre-clinical and clinical stage opportunities in oncology and/or immunology;
- Experience scouting for innovative drug development partnerships including both academic and commercial partners;
- A deal sheet demonstrating execution of deals across a diverse range of deal types and structures (e.g. in- and out-licenses, platform deals, research collaborations);
- Established network within the industry;
- Well-developed knowledge of innovative alliance structures, industry trends, and competitive issues related to biopharma Business Development;
- Must demonstrate scientific knowledge and gravitas to hold/drive meaningful scientific discussions with both internal and external experts;
- Drives to solutions on significant and unique complex issues where problems are not clearly defined.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (PhD/MBA) with background in life sciences
- Exposure to drug discovery or drug development in oncology
- Minimum 10 years of experience in biotech or pharma business development (search & evaluation), venture capital investing, or life sciences consulting, or other relevant experience
