Reporting to the SVP of Finance, the Director, Corporate Controller will be a driving force behind the accounting operations and financial reporting function in our fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment. This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll take ownership of accurate and timely financial statements, build and strengthen internal controls, drive disciplined close processes, and sharpen our cost and inventory accounting all while ensuring rock-solid compliance with GAAP, tax, audit, and company policy.

We're looking for a hands-on finance leader who thrives on solving complex manufacturing accounting challenges, brings deep systems expertise, and is energized by partnering directly with executive leadership and operations to elevate financial visibility, sharpen operational discipline, and fuel smarter, faster decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll accounting, bank reconciliations, and cash management.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting.
  • Prepare, review, and present financial statements, management reporting packages, account reconciliations, variance analyses, and supporting schedules.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve internal controls, accounting policies, close checklists, and financial processes to safeguard company assets and improve reporting accuracy.
  • Lead manufacturing cost accounting activities, including standard costing, inventory valuation, labor, material and overhead variance analysis, cycle counts, and margin analysis.
  • Partner with operations, supply chain, and executive leadership to evaluate cost drivers, working capital, inventory levels, pricing support, and operational performance.
  • Coordinate external audits, tax filings, compliance requests, and other financial reporting requirements.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis to inform strategic business decisions.
  • Manage banking relationships, cash forecasting, borrowing base or lender reporting, and working capital initiatives as applicable.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting team, including any offshore accounts receivable or shared-service resources, while setting clear expectations and accountability.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, reporting enhancements, and ERP optimization, with a focus on NetSuite and related finance systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • CPA required or actively in process; public accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing, distribution, or similar product-based environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, audit support, tax compliance, and month-end close best practices.
  • Demonstrated expertise in manufacturing cost accounting, inventory management, standard costing, variance analysis, and gross margin analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools; NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, improve processes, manage deadlines, and partner effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
