About this role Gartner's Director, Corporate Development & Competitive Intelligence team is responsible for a variety of strategic initiatives across the company. The team is highly visible within the organization and involves frequent interaction with senior management and many other business units. We are seeking candidates for a Director role within the Corporate Development (M&A) team. Qualified candidates will have exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to lead cross-functional teams to drive organic and inorganic growth initiatives across the company. This role will be based at our headquarters in Stamford, CT and will report to the MVP, Corporate Development.What you'll do Lead all phases of the M&A process, including target sourcing, development of the strategic rationales and business cases, due diligence / data room management, negotiation of deal terms, deal structuring and execution, and integration / separation activities.Partner with internal BUs to understand operations, performance, strategy, market dynamics, and business needs.Prepare a variety of detailed financial analyses, including P&L models, valuations, accretion/dilution analysis, etc.Coordinate across internal teams and external advisors throughout the M&A deal cycle and various other project management efforts.Engage with Sales leaders to drive and serve as project manager for Gartner's unsupported countries list, sales agents, and other emerging markets work.Support preparation and delivery of presentation materials for senior management.Develop ad-hoc analyses and support other corporate initiatives as needed.What you'll need Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Finance, Economics, or Accounting.5-6 years of relevant work experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, transaction services, or a similar role.Strong financial modeling, data analytics, project management, and technical finance skills.Ability to synthesize both qualitative and quantitative inputs in strategic business decisions.Willingness to embrace best practices and feedback as a means of continuous improvement.High attention to detail, high standards, and a commitment to excellence.Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint; PowerBI, CapIQ, HFM, and SQL experience are a plus.Who you are A fast learner who is comfortable managing unexpected change.Motivated, high-potential performer, with demonstrated ability to influence and lead.Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.Able to solve complex problems and successfully manage ambiguity and unexpected change.Teachable and embracing of best practices and feedback as a means of continuous improvement.Consistently high achiever marked by perseverance, humility and a positive outlook in the face of challenges.Benefits Base salary range: $120,000 - $167,000 USD, with actual salaries varying based on experience, education, and business needs.Annual bonus plan or role‑based, uncapped sales incentive plan, depending on role.Generous paid time off (PTO). 401(k) match up to $7,200 per year.Opportunity to purchase company stock at a discount.Competitive health and wellbeing benefits.Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Gartner is committed to being an Equal Opportunity Employer and offers opportunities to all job seekers, including those with disabilities.
