Director, Credit & Portfolio Management Equipment Finance

ABOUT THE ROLE

A growing equipment finance organization is seeking an experienced credit leader to oversee underwriting, collections, recovery, and portfolio risk management functions. This role will provide strategic leadership across credit operations while driving process improvement, operational efficiency, portfolio performance, and team development.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in equipment finance underwriting, credit administration, collections, recoveries, and operational leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and manage credit, collections, and recovery teams within the equipment finance division.
  • Establish and maintain underwriting standards, credit policies, and risk management procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on workflow optimization, automation, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and portfolio risk metrics.
  • Collaborate with lending, operations, finance, legal, compliance, and executive leadership teams.
  • Oversee portfolio performance, collections strategies, workout activities, and loss mitigation efforts.
  • Manage departmental budgets, staffing, and resource allocation.
  • Mentor and develop team members while fostering a culture of accountability, communication, and performance excellence.
  • Lead strategic projects and technology initiatives designed to enhance credit and servicing processes.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in equipment finance, commercial credit, collections, recovery, or portfolio management.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams and operational functions.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment finance underwriting, credit risk, and portfolio management.
  • Experience with collections, recoveries, restructurings, workouts, bankruptcy, or secured transactions preferred.
  • Proven track record of process improvement, workflow management, and KPI-driven leadership.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience leveraging technology and automation to improve credit operations.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Salary: $160, 000 $190, 000
  • Performance-based bonus opportunity.
