Who You'll Work With

As a Director of Data Systems & Platforms at Slalom, you will be a market-facing leader within the Data & AI practice. You will help grow the business by generating sales and creating and delivering offerings and solutions that address clients' data platform, engineering, and architecture priorities.

You will partner with market, account, capability, alliance, and delivery leaders to translate business needs into differentiated solutions. You will support the sales motion from opportunity shaping through delivery, with accountability for high-quality solutioning, profitable growth, and measurable client outcomes.

What You'll Do

Market Growth & Solution Leadership

• Generate demand and support sales growth for Data Systems & Platforms offerings within priority accounts and industries.
• Lead discovery, qualification, solution shaping, estimation, proposal development, and executive presentations for complex pursuits.
• Create, refine, and bring to market repeatable offerings, accelerators, and solution approaches aligned to client needs and Slalom strategy.
• Build compelling value propositions, business cases, and roadmaps that connect data platform investments to measurable business outcomes.
• Partner with account and sales leaders to identify expansion opportunities, strengthen pipeline, and convert client needs into executable solutions.
• Ensure proposed solutions have clear value, delivery feasibility, commercial integrity, and an appropriate return on investment.

Client & Ecosystem Leadership

• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, facilitating conversations that clarify business priorities, platform choices, transformation pathways, and expected outcomes.
• Champion specialized Data Systems & Platforms expertise in external engagements, industry forums, and client-facing thought leadership.
• Develop and activate networks with industry peers, internal experts, cloud providers, and data platform partners to strengthen pursuits and client outcomes.
• Coordinate cross-capability and multi-market teams to bring the best of Slalom to complex opportunities.
• Build durable client relationships by balancing ambition, pragmatism, and credibility throughout the sell-to-deliver lifecycle.

Solution Delivery & Business Performance

• Provide hands-on leadership during critical phases of delivery to maintain continuity between the solution sold and the outcomes delivered.
• Guide modern data platform, data engineering, architecture, migration, integration, governance, and operating-model solutions across cloud ecosystems.
• Partner with delivery leaders to establish solution quality, manage risks, resolve escalations, and protect client and business outcomes.
• Use delivery insights, reusable assets, automation, and AI-enabled engineering practices to improve speed, quality, and repeatability.
• Contribute to capability, industry, and customer-outcome performance through strategic thinking, disciplined execution, and high-quality solutioning.
• Monitor relevant sales, pipeline, revenue, margin, utilization, and delivery indicators, taking action to support sustainable and profitable growth.

People, Community & Expertise

• Foster a high-performance, inclusive culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, learning, and Slalom's values.
• Lead and mentor practitioners and solution leaders, helping them deepen expertise and build confidence in client and pursuit settings.
• Connect delivery, sales, alliances, and capability communities to share patterns, assets, lessons learned, and market insights.
• Facilitate strategy aligned with business outcomes and financial targets, and help leaders translate that strategy into focused action.
• Stay current on market trends and emerging technologies across AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake, and the broader modern data ecosystem.

What You'll Bring

You are a commercially minded consulting leader who combines market insight, technical credibility, client empathy, and delivery judgment. You are comfortable creating demand, shaping complex solutions, mobilizing cross-functional teams, and remaining accountable for the connection between what is sold and what is delivered.

Experience & Expertise

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, cloud data platforms, analytics engineering, or a related field, including significant consulting or client-facing experience.
• Experience supporting or owning sales motions, including account planning, opportunity qualification, solution shaping, estimation, proposals, orals, negotiation, and deal closure.
• Demonstrated success developing or scaling offerings and solutions that generated demand, expanded client relationships, or improved profitable growth.
• Experience leading complex data platform or transformation initiatives involving multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and technical domains.
• Strong working knowledge of modern cloud and data ecosystems, including AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake, and relevant engineering, governance, and integration patterns.
• Experience collaborating with alliance partners and internal sales, account, capability, and delivery teams.

Director-Level Leadership Capabilities

• Ability to lead through influence across accounts, capabilities, markets, and partner ecosystems without relying solely on formal authority.
• Executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to connect business outcomes, technical decisions, delivery approach, and commercial value.
• Strong business and financial acumen, including an understanding of pipeline, revenue, margin, utilization, risk, and return on investment.
• Ability to move between strategic direction and practical execution, particularly during ambiguous or high-priority pursuits and engagements.
• Demonstrated commitment to developing others, building community, and strengthening specialized expertise.
• A growth mindset, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach to challenging assumptions and improving outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The targeted base salary pay range for the Director level is $207,000 - $259,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
