The Role:

E-Commerce Parcel & Fulfillment Solutions Director serves as RealCold’s strategic owner of e-commerce parcel execution, parcel-focused technology, and network/carrier solution design (outside the walls of fulfillment center). This is a highly hands-on individual contributor role. While the role carries strategic responsibility, it is expected to personally execute day-to-day activities including customer solution presentations, system configuration, integration coordination, parcel setup, troubleshooting, and client training. Success is defined by delivery performance, cost optimization, and scalable fulfillment solutions, not delegation.

Core Responsibilities:

• Lead customer-facing presentations of RealCold’s e-commerce supply chain and parcel fulfillment solutions.
• Own and directly execute parcel strategy including carrier selection logic, service configuration, and cost optimization.
• Act as the primary bridge between customers and parcel carriers for service design, escalation paths, and performance alignment.
• Serve as the internal subject matter expert on parcel execution, parcel carriers, and parcel technology systems.
• Specify, configure, and optimize system workflows across OMS and parcel platforms.
• Lead and personally execute customer onboarding and training on parcel technology tools and workflows.
• Diagnose and resolve parcel, system, and integration issues directly in collaboration with IT, vendors, and carriers.
• Define and drive technology roadmap decisions for e-commerce parcel and fulfillment systems.
• Lead evaluation and selection of parcel and e-commerce technology platforms.

1. Customer-Facing E-Commerce Solution Communications

• Lead the presentation of RealCold’s e-commerce supply chain and fulfillment solutions to prospective customers, including order flow, fulfillment operations, parcel delivery, and performance visibility.
• Translate complex operational and technical workflows into clear, confidence-building customer narratives.
• Support pre-sales discovery by clarifying customer requirements related to order ingestion, service levels, fulfillment rules, packaging constraints, delivery commitments, reporting, and exception handling.

2. Initial Bridge Between Customers’ Requirements and Solutions Design, Fulfillment Operations, Internal IT and Technology Vendors

• Develop and maintain a deep working understanding of RealCold’s warehouse fulfillment processes, constraints, and operating models as they relate to e-commerce execution.
• Use this understanding to explain and present e-commerce fulfillment solutions that are operationally credible and scalable.
• Translate customer requirements into fulfillment concepts and system configurations that align with how RealCold warehouses actually operate.
• Partner with Operations, Solutions Design, and Customer Experience during solution design and implementation, while day-to-day customer–fulfillment coordination remains with the Customer Experience team.

• Serve as the functional owner for e-commerce system integrations, connecting customer selling platforms with RealCold systems and parcel technologies.

• Specify business and technical requirements for integrations, configurations, and workflow logic; partner with IT and vendors for implementation.
• Lead testing, go-live readiness, and post-launch stabilization for customer integrations and platform enhancements.
• Be fluent in integration concepts (APIs, data mapping, error handling, retries), without being responsible for writing code.

3. Manage and maximize benefit of Parcel Carriers and Technology

• Serve as RealCold’s primary internal expert on parcel carriers, parcel execution models, and parcel-focused information technology supporting e-commerce fulfillment.
• Act as the ongoing relationship bridge (not shipment level tracing/problem solving) between customers and parcel carriers, ensuring service level expectations, delivery commitments, and escalation paths are clearly defined and managed.
• Manage parcel carriers systemic performance.
• Lead the configuration and optimization of parcel management systems to improve cost, visibility, and last-mile performance.
• Use parcel performance data and exception trends to identify technology, configuration, or process improvements.

• Act as a hands-on expert user and functional owner of RealCold’s e-commerce OMS and parcel technology platforms.
• Specify system configurations, rules, and workflows required to meet customer and operational requirements.
• Partner with IT and vendors for implementation; this role is not responsible for software development.

4. Technology Selection & Future Enablement

• Play a lead role in evaluating, selecting, and implementing future information technology solutions that support RealCold’s e-commerce fulfillment strategy.
• Partner with IT, Operations, and leadership to shape e-commerce technology roadmaps that scale with customer demand.
• Ensure technology choices prioritize operational reality, customer experience, and long-term scalability.

Requirements of the Position:

• 10+ years of experience in e-commerce fulfillment, parcel logistics, or technology-enabled supply chain roles.
• Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
• Proven ability to operate as a hands-on leader, executing both strategy and implementation.
• Strong understanding of:
  • Parcel carriers and last-mile logistics
  • OMS and parcel systems
  • System integrations and configuration logic
• Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with Sales, IT, Operations, and customers.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, particularly in customer-facing environments.
• Demonstrated experience acting as a bridge between customers, operations, and technology teams.
• Strong understanding of parcel fulfillment, last-mile delivery, carrier service levels, and cost drivers.
• Proven ability to specify system requirements, lead integrations, and support production execution without being a software developer.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience in cold chain or temperature-controlled fulfillment environments.
• Familiarity with common e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento), OMS, ERP, and parcel management systems.
• Experience supporting technology selection, vendor evaluations, or platform implementations.
• Proven track record of implementing integrations between customer platforms and internal systems.
• Strong understanding of parcel execution, carrier selection logic, inventory management, and last-mile delivery processes.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for customer-facing engagements.
• Proficiency in API integrations, ERP systems, e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento), and Parcel Management Solutions.
• Experience with cold-chain or temperature-sensitive fulfillment environments.
• Familiarity with automation technologies and distributed order management systems.
• Advanced data analysis skills for performance optimization and anomaly detection.
• Consumption and Management of Carrier Status Data for Internal Business Analysis and Client Reporting

Work Requirements:

• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must be willing to work weekends and evenings.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Dress code is relaxed with a few rules to follow for safety; comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required.
• Strong preference for full-time onsite working out of the RealCold facility, in Lakeland, FL (between Tampa and Orlando) or Lockhart, TX (between Austin and San Antonio)
• Hours vary depending on deadlines and needs of the company
• Willing to travel about 25%

Work Environment:

Works in a cold storage company with occasional exposure to low to below-zero temperatures. This job may involve occasional exposure to some disagreeable elements such as dust, noise, etc. Accidents are improbable other than minor injuries. Environment may be fast paced at times. You may occasionally be working around moving machines, order pickers and forklifts.
