THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE

The Director, Emerging Brands is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that accelerate growth for Ulta Beauty's emerging brand portfolio and strengthen the Only at Ulta assortment as a key point of differentiation.

This leader will oversee strategic brand-building initiatives designed to increase awareness, consideration, and long-term loyalty for high-potential emerging brands and exclusive partnerships. Working closely with Merchandising, Category Marketing, Media, Creative, Customer & Growth Marketing, and brand partners, this role will develop innovative go-to-market strategies that drive meaningful business growth while reinforcing Ulta Beauty's position as the destination for beauty discovery.

The ideal candidate is a strategic marketer with strong brand-building expertise, a passion for identifying emerging trends and brands, and a proven ability to translate consumer insights into impactful marketing programs. This role requires strong collaboration, executive presence, and the ability to influence across internal and external stakeholders.

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:

Lead the development and execution of marketing strategies for Ulta Beauty's portfolio of emerging brands and Only at Ulta exclusive partnerships, driving awareness, acquisition, engagement, and long-term growth.

  • Develop differentiated brand-building strategies that position Ulta Beauty as the premier destination for beauty discovery, innovation, and emerging trends.
  • Partner closely with Merchandising to identify high-growth opportunities, establish marketing priorities, and accelerate performance across emerging and exclusive brands.
  • Lead go-to-market strategy and activation for key brand launches, exclusive partnerships, and strategic growth initiatives across the marketing funnel.
  • Develop integrated marketing plans in partnership with Creative, Media, Social, PR, Category Marketing, and Customer & Growth Marketing teams to deliver cohesive guest experiences.
  • Serve as the primary marketing partner for key emerging and exclusive brand relationships, building strong partnerships that drive mutual business growth.
  • Leverage consumer insights, category trends, and competitive intelligence to inform marketing strategies and identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Monitor and evaluate marketing performance, utilizing analytics and consumer insights to optimize investments, improve effectiveness, and drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Manage marketing budgets and funding investments, ensuring alignment to business priorities and delivery of strong return on investment.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Merchandising, Consumer Insights, Strategic Analytics, Finance, and Marketing partners to ensure successful execution of growth strategies.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous growth.

THE ESSENTIALS OF SUCCESS

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in brand/integrated marketing
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Demonstrated success leading integrated marketing campaigns across the consumer funnel that delivered measurable business results and strengthened brand equity.
  • Strategic and commercially-minded marketer with the ability to translate consumer insights, market trends, and business objectives into differentiated growth strategies.
  • Proven ability to build, launch, and scale brands through consumer engagement and innovative marketing approaches.
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous growth.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills, with the ability to build alignment across senior leaders, cross-functional partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and prioritization skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Travel may be required (<10% of time)

The pay range for this position is $147,300.00 - $200,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company's bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
