Salary: $95,000–$150,000 annually

Position Overview

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Director of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for a direct hire opportunity in Rock Hill, SC. This leadership position is responsible for managing, planning, organizing, and overseeing the operations of the Emergency Medical Services department.

The Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for EMS staff while supporting emergency preparedness, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, departmental performance, and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and operational oversight for the Emergency Medical Services department.
• Recruit, train, develop, motivate, and evaluate EMS professionals.
• Plan and oversee training and educational programs for departmental staff.
• Establish departmental goals and communicate expectations across the team.
• Develop and maintain the hospital’s emergency preparedness plan.
• Support Joint Commission readiness and compliance activities.
• Develop and manage the department’s annual operating budget.
• Track departmental expenses and provide ongoing budget performance reporting.
• Develop, implement, and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
• Advise staff regarding policies, procedures, operational requirements, and performance expectations.
• Support Customer Service and Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership and other departments to support organizational objectives.
• Promote a culture of accountability, quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Management experience in EMS or a related field.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Current State Paramedic certification/licensure.
• Must obtain National Registry EMT-Paramedic (NREMT-P) certification within 6 months of starting.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of Emergency Medical Services experience.
• Previous EMS leadership or departmental management experience.
• Experience with emergency preparedness, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and quality improvement.

Compensation & Relocation

• Salary range: $95,000–$150,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
• AIP bonus eligible.
• Potential sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.
• Relocation assistance may be available based on the candidate’s current location and relocation distance.
