Constellation Search Group is looking for a Director, Enterprise Architecture for a full-time, direct hire position. The Director of Enterprise Architecture will build and lead the enterprise architecture function, bridging business strategy with the company's technology landscape. This role involves creating a clear view of current and future-state capabilities, aligning platforms and integrations with business needs, and developing practical roadmaps to guide IT decisions concerning modernization, scalability, security, and business outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and lead the enterprise architecture function across IT.
- Build architecture governance that supports speed, security, compliance, and scalability.
- Create and roll out IT-wide architecture standards, reference patterns, templates, and decision frameworks.
- Develop and maintain an enterprise capability model to support technology strategy and prioritization.
- Map key platforms, data, and integrations to business capabilities.
- Partner with business and IT leaders to identify gaps, prioritize initiatives, and shape future-state roadmaps.
- Translate business strategy into actionable architecture themes and technology plans.
- Support modernization, platform rationalization, and technical debt reduction efforts.
- Provide architecture input into portfolio planning, sequencing, dependencies, and delivery risks.
- Work with delivery teams to shape solution designs, reduce rework, and promote reuse of shared platforms and standard patterns.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership by presenting clear options, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations in business language.
- Maintain architecture documentation, decision records, exception tracking, and related enterprise architecture repositories.
- Coach teams on architecture practices and improve consistency across domains.
Qualifications:
- 12+ years of relevant technology experience, including enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or technology strategy.
- Experience in biotech, pharma, life sciences, or another regulated environment.
- Strong background with enterprise platforms, integrations, cloud architecture, and architecture governance.
- Hands-on experience with Veeva platforms and the Microsoft ecosystem, including Azure and M365.
- Experience supporting modernization, platform rationalization, and technology roadmap development.
- Ability to influence senior leaders and translate complex technical concepts into clear business recommendations.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Master's degree or MBA preferred.
- TOGAF or similar architecture certification preferred.
- Microsoft Azure architecture certifications preferred.
- Experience architecting or enabling AI-powered solutions preferred.
