Role Description:
The Director, Fleet Management provides strategic leadership and oversight for fleet operations, including vehicle acquisition, maintenance, fuel management, and compliance. Ensures cost-effective, safe, and reliable transportation services by optimizing fleet performance, implementing best practices, and leveraging data-driven decision-making. Collaborates with internal stakeholders to align fleet services with organizational goals, manages vendor relationships, and drives continuous improvement in efficiency, sustainability, and service delivery.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities: Provides daily planning, Administration, and management in the selection, supervision, promotion, discipline, and training of personnel within the department.
Key Working Relationships: Interacts with co-workers and managers throughout the Authority, vendors, suppliers, and officials from other organizations.

Required Experience:
Ten (10) years of progressive business administration experience in fleet, automotive, operational or asset management; inclusive of five (5) years of managerial experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum Education Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Administration, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field from an accredited college/university.Required Skills: Strong analytical, planning, writing and organizational skills.Must possess strong financial acumen to effectively analyze cost data and trends required to develop long-term replacement strategies.Excellent knowledge in contract development, negotiations and managing vendor performance.Required Licenses & Certifications: Certification in Fleet Management (Certified Association of Fleet Managers, CAFM; Federal Fleet Manager Certification Program, FFMCP; etc. and/or Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Technician Certifications.Must possess and maintain a valid driver''s license with satisfactory driving record held throughout employment.Physical Requirements: General office conditions Prolonged periods sitting, standing, or walking.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. at times.Subject to indoor and/or outdoor environmental conditions that include exposure to extreme cold and/or hot temperatures.Subject to noise, vibration, and to hazards from a variety of physical conditions.Subject to atmospheric conditions that affect the respiratory system or skin such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation, or to exposure to oils or other cutting fluids.
