Director Free Standing Emergency Department

A Director of Freestanding Emergency Services opportunity is available in Charleston, SC, with a two-hospital system that currently operates four freestanding emergency departments, with additional sites under development.

The role. Reporting to the ACNO and supporting two hospital executive teams, this director holds operational and strategic accountability for a network of freestanding emergency departments, working with three managers across the sites. The director enforces clinical standards of emergency care and develops processes to ensure consistent compliance, while overseeing a performance improvement program that monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care. Ancillary oversight spans imaging, lab (a point-of-care model in which nurses perform lab testing), admitting, security, environmental services, and support services. The director also advances employee engagement and patient experience initiatives, participates in patient and employee rounding, and identifies and mentors emerging leaders within the department.

What we're looking for.

• Bachelor's degree in nursing required
• Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred
• 3+ years of experience in emergency services required
• 3+ years of experience in a leadership role required
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state in which he or she practices, in accordance with law and regulation required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
