    ABOUT THIS ROLE

As Audible continues to revolutionize audio entertainment, we are seeking a strategic deal-maker to serve as the Director, Global English Publisher Partnerships, Deal Architecture and Enablement. This role drives deal success across Audible"s third party publisher relationships, leading negotiations directly while architecting creative deal structures that deliver measurable business outcomes for the broader team.

You will own a portfolio of publisher relationships and negotiations for the Global English Publisher Partnerships organization, managing deals from initial discussions through execution. Reporting to the Senior Director, Global English Publisher Partnerships, you will negotiate commercial terms directly with publishers, develop deal structures, and collaborate with Finance, Legal, Product, and cross-functional teams to shape how Audible values and structures its third party publisher relationships. You will also enable the broader deal team by translating business performance insights into negotiation approaches and deal frameworks that advance the team"s objectives.

    ABOUT YOU

You are a deal-maker with strong business acumen and financial modeling capabilities. You combine negotiation expertise with the ability to value complex deal structures and the communication skills to influence senior leadership and cross-functional partners. You"re equally comfortable leading high-stakes negotiations, building deal valuation models, and presenting recommendations that drive investment decisions. You thrive in ambiguity, ask the right questions, and have a proven ability to close deals while elevating the capabilities of those around you. You have a passion for audio storytelling and digital media.

As a Director, Global English Publisher Partnerships, Deal Architecture and Enablement, you will...

    • Lead deal negotiations and manage commercial relationships directly with publishers across Audible"s English language markets globally, owning deals from initial discussions through execution
    • Design innovative deal structures that balance publisher and Audible objectives, collaborating with Finance, Legal, Product, Strategy, and the Publisher Partnerships team to optimize deal economics
    • Build valuation models and conduct scenario testing to inform your negotiations and evaluate deal trade-offs, including P&L development and ROI analysis
    • Develop negotiation approaches informed by business performance trends across the 3rd party publisher ecosystem, identifying opportunities that shape deal structures for your portfolio and the broader team
    • Monitor the competitive landscape and industry trends to identify emerging opportunities, competitive threats, and positioning considerations that strengthen negotiations and publisher relationships
    • Support the Senior Director and deal team by translating business performance insights into negotiation frameworks and deal approaches that can be applied across the publisher portfolio
    • Create executive communications and presentation materials that articulate deal recommendations, financial implications, and business rationale for content investments and publisher opportunities
    • Lead publisher-facing business reviews and performance discussions, including Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), that strengthen relationships and inform ongoing deal optimization
    • Drive communication cadence with publishers and internal stakeholders on performance, providing thought leadership on the publishing industry and content trends that inform deal discussions
    • Build trust and credibility as a go-to deal partner for Global English Publisher Partnerships, combining negotiation expertise with financial acumen and business judgment
    • Champion efficiency within the Publisher Partnerships team through automation and AI tools, reducing manual work to focus team capacity on deal-making and relationship development
    • Facilitate cross-functional alignment on publisher performance and deal priorities, driving action that improves relationship outcomes
    • Influence decision-making through compelling business cases, clear financial framing, and stakeholder engagement that advances deal objectives

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
