Director, Government Affairs

JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Government Affairs is responsible for:

• Maintaining active awareness of legislative issues, including proposed legislation and public policies that may impact Rady Children's Hospital San Diego, and developing and coordinating strategies to address them.
• Working under the direction of the Vice President, Chief Advocacy & Public Policy Officer, and in partnership with the Rady Children's Advocacy & Public Policy team and external policy advisors, to implement strategies that support Rady Children's Health's San Diego advocacy agenda, including developing and executing legislative proposals that support health system priorities.
• Working with internal and external partners to advocate for policies, practices and resources that advance Rady Children's mission.
• Collaborating and amplifying the voices of Rady Children's Health clinicians and subject matter experts to inform positions and influence policy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree

5 Years of Experience

Experience in government relations, government affairs or public health administration required. Health policy experience or healthcare industry experience is strongly preferred.

Works efficiently under pressure; demonstrates initiative and strong project management skills; demonstrates clear team orientation, strategic thinking and executive judgement.

Master's Degree

7 Years of Experience

The current salary range for this position is Min: $64.34 - Mid: $85.25 - Max: $106.15
