Director - Healthcare Turnaround & Restructuring

    Company Overview

Our client is a boutique advisory firm focused on turnaround and restructuring within the healthcare sector, primarily serving middle-market companies. The firm partners with organizations navigating financial distress, operational challenges, and periods of transition, delivering hands-on advisory solutions across both in-court and out-of-court situations.

With a collaborative, small-team environment and a strong emphasis on high-quality execution, the firm offers professionals the opportunity to take ownership of engagements, work closely with senior leadership, and have a tangible impact on client outcomes.

    Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Director (8+ years of experience) to lead and execute healthcare restructuring engagements. This individual will be responsible for managing client engagements end-to-end, driving financial and operational analyses, and developing and implementing turnaround strategies.

This role is ideal for a versatile leader with both consulting and finance expertise who can operate effectively in a lean team environment, while also contributing to business development initiatives and firm growth.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the delivery of restructuring and turnaround engagements, translating scope into actionable workplans and managing execution
    • Conduct detailed financial and operational analyses to diagnose performance issues across cash flow, profitability, capital structure, and strategic positioning
    • Build and oversee financial models, including 13-week cash flow forecasts and integrated 3-statement projections
    • Develop and implement turnaround and restructuring strategies, including liquidity management, cost optimization, and capital solutions
    • Evaluate strategic alternatives, including out-of-court restructurings and formal insolvency processes
    • Prepare client-ready reports, presentations, and stakeholder updates; support court-related reporting when applicable
    • Collaborate with company management, lenders, creditors, and external advisors to execute restructuring plans
    • Support or step into interim management roles (e.g., CFO, COO, Controller) when needed
    • Leverage sector expertise to advise on healthcare industry trends and their impact on client situations
    • Participate in business development efforts, including relationship building and originating new opportunities

    Qualifications

    • 8+ years of experience in restructuring, turnaround consulting, or the healthcare sector (or a combination of both)
    • Strong background in financial analysis, modeling, and performance diagnostics
    • Experience leading engagements and managing client relationships
    • Exposure to distressed situations, restructuring processes, and/or insolvency scenarios
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement actionable turnaround strategies
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to senior stakeholders
    • Bachelor's degree required; CPA, CFA, or similar financial designation preferred
    • Proven leadership ability and experience working in lean, high-performance teams

    • Work Environment: Remote with travel for client engagements and business development
    • Team Structure: Lean, collaborative teams with significant responsibility and ownership
