We are underwriters of risk, growth, progress and opportunity. We are a global team focused on disciplined capital allocation and long-term value creation for all stakeholders, who care deeply about our impact on communities and the wider world.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly strategic, analytical, and execution-oriented leader to join our HR Leadership Team as Director, HR Transformation & Effectiveness. This role serves as a force multiplier for the HR organization—leading and accelerating the most critical initiatives across our people agenda while helping the team execute with greater speed, clarity, and impact.

Reporting directly to the CHRO, this individual will drive enterprise-wide HR projects, provide structure to complex and ambiguous challenges, and serve as a trusted partner across HR, Finance, IT, and business leadership. The role is designed for a high-potential leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants exposure to executive-level strategy, transformation, and organizational effectiveness work. The position aligns with Everest's broader goal of creating capacity for HR leaders to focus on strategic priorities and organizational impact. This role is hybrid (3 days minimum in office) based in our Warren, NJ office.

This is not an operational, administrative, or oversight role. Rather, it is a project-focused leadership position dedicated to advancing the HR strategy and enhancing organizational effectiveness through disciplined execution, analytics, change management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Initiative Leadership

  • Lead and deliver high-priority HR transformation initiatives from concept through implementation.

  • Drive project plans, governance, milestones, risks, and stakeholder alignment for strategic programs.

  • Partner with HR leaders to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.

  • Support enterprise priorities related to talent, organizational effectiveness, employee experience, operating model evolution, workforce planning, and HR modernization.

Organizational Effectiveness & Transformation

  • Identify opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness, scalability, and ways of working.

  • Apply structured problem-solving methodologies to complex people, process, and organizational challenges.

  • Lead assessments, business cases, process redesign efforts, and change management initiatives.

  • Help drive continuous improvement and innovation across the HR function.

Executive Advisory & Analytics

  • Develop executive-level presentations, recommendations, and business cases for senior leadership.

  • Use data, analytics, and insights to inform decision-making and influence outcomes.

  • Synthesize complex information into clear, actionable recommendations.

  • Support leadership discussions, annual planning, workforce strategies, and enterprise initiatives.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as a connector across HR Centers of Excellence, HR Business Partners, Finance, IT, Operations, and business leaders.

  • Facilitate collaboration among multiple stakeholders to remove barriers and accelerate progress.

  • Ensure strategic initiatives remain aligned with broader business objectives and priorities.

Project Execution Excellence

  • Establish clear project structures, workstreams, success metrics, and accountability mechanisms.

  • Drive disciplined execution while adapting to changing priorities and business needs.

  • Balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery to ensure successful implementation and sustainable results.

What Success Looks Like

  • HR's highest-priority initiatives are delivered on time and with measurable business impact.

  • Leaders have greater capacity to focus on strategic decisions because projects are well-structured and effectively managed.

  • Cross-functional teams collaborate more efficiently and effectively.

  • Data-driven decision-making becomes more embedded across the HR function.

  • HR continues to evolve as a strategic partner to the business.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in strategy, transformation, consulting, project leadership, HR, organizational effectiveness, or related fields.

  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in large, matrixed organizations.

  • Experience influencing senior executives and managing competing stakeholder priorities.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business acumen capabilities.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience as an HRBP or in Talent Management

  • Experience in management consulting, strategy, transformation, PMO, chief of staff, organizational effectiveness, or HR transformation roles.

  • Insurance or financial services industry experience preferred.
