Job Summary:
To manage the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation/continuous improvement of infection prevention and control program. To perform job duties in accordance with the university hospital & health system's purpose. To provide administration of daily operations of the infection prevention department. To ensure that the annual infection prevention plan is evidence based and provides prevention, surveillance, and control for the organization in accordance with regulatory standards.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field and ten (10) years of acute care hospital experience.
Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required: Mississippi R.N. LICENSE preferred. Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Data entry skills, demonstrated sound clinical judgement, integrity, effective leadership skills, and excellent communication skills. Proven skills in human relations, communications, and change theory application: demonstrated effectiveness in collaboration with physicians.
