Position Summary: The Director, IT Applications provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the IT applications team and is responsible for design, development, implementation, support, sustainment, and continuous improvement of the JDE Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and MES (Manufacturing Execution System) systems and applications.
Description of Essential Job Functions:
Contribute to and execute the enterprise application strategy aligned with business objectives and IT roadmap.
Oversee the lifecycle of enterprise applications (ERP and supporting applications), including performance, security, and maintenance.
Supervise, mentor, and lead the IT applications team.
Coordinate and prioritize day-to-day team assignments and project tasks.
Provide training to team on ERP and MES systems skills - setup, problem solving, functionality, etc.
Manage relationships, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs) with software vendors and third-party developers.
Develop and support IT application policy, process, and procedures.
Provide strategic leadership for the ongoing operational development, data integrity, integration, and security of ERP and MES systems. Oversee planning, coordination, and execution of issue resolution across the full system lifecycle, including development, testing, and troubleshooting. Drive continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies within existing platforms and leading the planning and implementation of new systems and processes that enable business units to achieve strategic objectives while maintaining alignment with enterprise IT architecture standards.
Balance and communicate priorities across business units to maximize efficiencies and promote strategic company goals.
Interact with management as required to carry out duties and to determine business needs and priorities.
Support the Senior Director, Information Technology in application‑related budget preparation and planning.
Lead the integration of business stakeholder needs by overseeing the evaluation of business requirements, translating them into ERP and MES application strategies and module roadmaps, and driving recommendations that optimize business processes. Ensure the development of clear functional specifications and validate solutions with stakeholders to deliver scalable, value‑driven outcomes.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
