POSITION OBJECTIVE: The position provides management and oversight of the organization's IT portfolio and project delivery, including working with stakeholders to identifying needs, managing project lifecycles, and maintaining the systems that support the business. This position is responsible for overseeing the organization's technology portfolio, leading end-to-end delivery of IT projects, and ensuring the reliable operation and security of enterprise systems. This role partners closely with business stakeholders and IT teams to align technology investments with strategic goals, deliver projects predictably, and maintain operational excellence across key platforms and infrastructure. The role requires a strategic mindset alongside hands-on technical depth, bridging the gap between business objectives and IT execution. Additionally, this position involves managing vendor relationships, improving service delivery, and staying current with technological trends to support the organization's needs effectively.

REPORTS TO: Executive Director, Technology

SALARY: $150,000 - $170,000 annually

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop strategic goals that align with the organizational and departmental mission and vision to ensure continuous improvement and innovations of technology usage throughout the organization
  • Define, maintain, and govern the IT project and initiative portfolio aligned with organizational strategy and budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify needs, align organizational goals, and implement solutions that drive operational efficiency and support strategic priorities
  • Lead full project lifecycle for IT initiatives, from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Develop and monitor departmental budget in coordination with Executive Director, Technology
  • Coordinate and manage the acquisition, distribution and configuration of staff technology resources and potential new software applications
  • Administration and management of systems to ensure compliance and functionality
  • Manage third-party technology vendors
  • Monitor developments in the technology industry to keep technology current and capable of supporting the needs of the organization effectively and efficiently
  • Collaborate in designing and implementing Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations plans
  • Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement of IT systems
  • Ensure IT processes, procedures and controls are well documented and updated timely
  • Ensure staff are well trained on software, systems and functionality to create an efficient and knowledgeable workforce

RELATIONSHIPS:
Work directly with all Technology staff to maintain daily operations. Work with IT Team and end users on special projects. Work with all AFBF staff to understand and meet their technology needs. Coordinate with third party solution providers on external application development, support and integration.

EDUCATION OR TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Related certifications are encouraged

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the Information Technology field, including combined experience in IT project management and portfolio management
  • Demonstrated experience managing IT project portfolios or multiple concurrent projects with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Customer service focus and strong leadership abilities and in-depth knowledge of technology
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize work streams appropriately, and manage multiple IT projects with different needs, scopes, and deadlines
  • Experience supporting hybrid environments
  • Excellent management, communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience designing and implementing Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations plans

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/SKILLS:

  • Experience with SaaS systems
  • Certifications such as PMP, CISSP, ITIL or equivalent

  • Occasional travel
