The Opportunity

The Maintenance Director is responsible for leading and managing all field service maintenance operations, ensuring the reliability, performance, and lifecycle management of mission-critical equipment and systems. This role provides strategic leadership for field service teams, develops maintenance programs, drives operational excellence, and ensures exceptional customer service while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. The Maintenance Director will oversee field technicians, maintenance managers, and service personnel across multiple project sites and customer locations. This position serves as a key liaison between customers, operations, engineering, manufacturing, and executive leadership to ensure efficient service delivery and continuous improvement.

What you will do?

  • Develop and implement field service maintenance strategies that support organizational objectives and customer requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage regional field service managers, supervisors, and technicians.
  • Establish preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for mission-critical equipment and infrastructure.
  • Oversee service execution, scheduling, workforce planning, and resource allocation across multiple locations.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and customer site requirements.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including equipment reliability, service response times, first-time fix rates, and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, service quality, and cost optimization.
  • Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to identify recurring equipment issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities for electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Manage departmental budgets, forecasting, labor utilization, and operational expenditures.
  • Review and approve maintenance procedures, service standards, and technical documentation.
  • Develop training programs to enhance technician skills, certifications, and technical capabilities.
  • Support customer escalations and serve as the senior point of contact for critical maintenance issues.
  • Ensure accurate service reporting, documentation, and maintenance record management.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, tools, and service methodologies to improve field operations.
  • Support business development efforts by assisting with service proposals, maintenance agreements, and customer presentations.
  • Grow a profitable and sustainable Maintenance Business.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • 10+ years of maintenance, field service, or operations leadership experience.
  • 5+ years of management experience leading multi-site field service teams.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical facilities, data centers, power systems, electrical distribution equipment, generators, UPS systems, switchgear, cooling systems, or related infrastructure preferred.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing maintenance programs and service strategies.
  • Experience managing budgets, workforce planning, and operational performance metrics
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
