Job Description

Reporting directly to the President, you will be responsible for leading manufacturing transformation initiatives across multiple facilities. This newly created leadership position will establish the next level of manufacturing engineering capability within the organization, helping standardize processes, modernize assembly operations, and improve the conversion of engineering designs into efficient, repeatable manufacturing workflows.

Description

  • Lead manufacturing engineering and operational excellence initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Partner closely with the President and senior leadership team on strategic operational improvement projects.
  • Drive the modernization of manufacturing and assembly processes to improve efficiency, scalability, quality, and throughput.
  • Develop and implement standardized manufacturing methodologies, work instructions, routing structures, and assembly processes.
  • Translate engineering designs into practical manufacturing build strategies that can be consistently executed across facilities.
  • Lead the conversion of Engineering Bills of Materials (EBOMs) into Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs).
  • Establish best practices for manufacturability, assembly sequencing, product flow, and production readiness.
  • Create repeatable manufacturing processes that reduce reliance on legacy "one person, one build" methodologies.
  • Partner with production teams to identify bottlenecks, improve workflow, and enhance manufacturing performance.
  • Work directly with machinery suppliers, machine tool vendors, and machining centers to support manufacturing improvements.
  • Lead cross-functional projects involving Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and governance structures for key business initiatives.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to manufacturing engineering teams and help build future organizational capability.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including responsibility for manufacturing engineering, operations, operational excellence, or industrial engineering functions.
  • Multi-site manufacturing experience required.
  • Experience leading large-scale manufacturing transformation and process standardization initiatives.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional leadership capabilities.
  • Experience developing manufacturing processes, assembly methodologies, and production workflows.
  • Demonstrated success improving the transition from engineering design to manufacturing execution.
  • Experience interacting with machine shops, machining centers, equipment suppliers, and production operations.
  • Comfortable working both strategically and hands-on within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders from the shop floor to the executive level.
