Overview:
Paramount Global Publishing is seeking a strategic, creative, and highly collaborative Director of Marketing to help build and execute go-to-market strategies for its fast-growing publishing business. Our program spans a broad range of intellectual property, including animated series, feature films, iconic catalog movies and television, and original works, across both children's and adult publishing.
The Director will lead consumer and trade marketing across a diverse portfolio, spearheading awareness, fan engagement, sales, and long-term value for the imprint and its titles. This is an opportunity to help build a new publishing brand while developing innovative strategies for some of the world's most recognizable entertainment properties.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute integrated consumer and trade marketing strategies for a diverse portfolio of children's and adult titles
Help establish the imprint's positioning, voice, identity, and go-to-market approach in partnership with Publishing, Global Products & Experiences, and studio teams
Develop title and portfolio campaigns that leverage Paramount's IP and broader entertainment ecosystem to drive discovery, engagement, and sales
Support sales and distribution partners with retailer-facing marketing programs, presentations, materials, promotions, and other tools to drive sell-in and sell-through
Develop trade marketing programs for booksellers, retailers, librarians, educators, and other key industry audiences
Lead consumer initiatives across digital, social, influencer, partnerships, experiential, and events, in collaboration with broader marketing and publicity teams
Build relationships with key booksellers and develop targeted opportunities to highlight lead titles and priority publishing programs
Lead marketing strategy and support for trade shows, conventions, conferences, festivals, and other industry and consumer events
Partner with Publicity on author and press tours, media appearances, awards, reviews, and other promotional opportunities
Collaborate across Editorial, Creative, Publicity, Sales, Consumer Products, Franchise, and studio teams to maximize opportunities and ensure cohesive campaigns
Manage external agencies, vendors, authors, creators, and other partners, as well as campaign budgets, timelines, approvals, and deliverables
Develop campaign briefs, presentations, sell sheets, and other marketing materials; monitor performance and marketplace trends to refine strategies and identify opportunities
Bring new ideas and best practices from publishing, entertainment, consumer marketing, social media, and retail to the business
Basic Qualifications:
10+ years of marketing experience
Proven ability to develop and execute integrated campaigns across multiple channels and audiences
Robust knowledge of retail marketing, audience development, brand marketing, and consumer engagement
Experience working with authors, creators, entertainment franchises, or other talent-driven IP
Experience with trade shows, conventions, events, partnerships, and experiential marketing
Solid strategic and creative thinker with the ability to execute at a detailed, hands-on level
Solid skills in communication, presentation, project management, and collaboration
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work successfully across a complex organization
Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in a new and evolving business
Affinity for books, storytelling, entertainment, and popular culture
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $110,400.00 - 138,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
