Job Summary
The Director of Nursing is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care within our home health and home care settings. This position requires a dynamic leader with extensive experience in nursing administration, who can effectively manage nursing operations, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and foster a culture of excellence in patient care. The Director of Nursing will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance service delivery and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure effective team performance.Oversee the management of medical records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.Develop and implement policies and procedures that enhance nursing practice and improve patient care.Ensure adherence to Medicare regulations and standards within the nursing department.Manage shift schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels and continuity of care.Conduct regular performance evaluations for nursing staff, providing constructive feedback and opportunities for professional development.Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans tailored to individual needs.Monitor quality assurance metrics and implement improvement initiatives as necessary.
Skills
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate nursing teams.Proficient in managing medical records systems and ensuring confidentiality.Experience in home health or home care settings is highly desirable.Excellent supervisory skills with a focus on team development and performance management.In-depth knowledge of nursing administration practices and principles.Familiarity with Medicare regulations and compliance standards.Effective shift management capabilities to optimize staffing efficiency.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with healthcare teams.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree of NursingNursing licensure in the state of practiceManagement experienceCPR upon hireClearances as required by law.
