Salary: $200,000 - $240,000 per year

A bit about us:

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Accounting & Finance to help scale the financial operations of a fast-growing payments and SaaS company. This role will sit at the intersection of accounting, finance operations, and FP&A — owning the accuracy of financial reporting while building the processes, systems, and insights needed to support continued growth.

The ideal candidate is a builder who thrives in a high-growth technology environment and can operate as both a financial operator and strategic business partner. This person will lead core accounting functions, improve financial infrastructure, drive forecasting and reporting, and partner cross-functionally with leadership, product, sales, and operations teams to support key business decisions.

Why join us?

This is a unique opportunity to build and lead the finance function at a growing SaaS and payments company. The Director of Accounting & Finance will have significant ownership and visibility, helping shape the company’s financial strategy, operational infrastructure, and next phase of growth.

Job Details

Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
Own the accounting function, including month-end close, general ledger management, revenue recognition, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting in accordance with GAAP and maintain strong internal controls as the company scales.
Oversee accounting operations related to SaaS revenue streams, payment processing activity, transaction volume, customer billing, deferred revenue, and subscription metrics.
Improve and automate accounting processes, systems, and workflows to increase efficiency and scalability.
Partner with external auditors, tax providers, and banking partners as needed.

FP&A & Business Analytics
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes in partnership with executive leadership.
Develop financial models and reporting tools to provide visibility into revenue growth, gross margin, customer acquisition, retention, profitability, and cash flow.
Build dashboards and KPIs that help leadership understand business performance and make data-driven decisions.
Analyze business trends and provide insights into operational performance, investments, and growth opportunities.
Support strategic initiatives including pricing, product expansion, go-to-market planning, and resource allocation.
Finance Operations & Strategic Partnership
Serve as a key finance partner to executive leadership and cross-functional teams across sales, operations, product, and customer success.
Evaluate and optimize financial processes across the organization.
Help scale systems, controls, and reporting infrastructure to support rapid company growth.
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, profitability, and decision-making.
Support strategic projects including fundraising, M&A, system implementations, and other growth initiatives.

Qualifications
8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with experience in high-growth technology, SaaS, fintech, or payments environments preferred.
Strong foundation in accounting principles with demonstrated experience owning month-end close and financial reporting.
Experience building or scaling finance processes, systems, and reporting infrastructure.
Strong FP&A experience, including budgeting, forecasting, modeling, and KPI development.
Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights.
Experience working with SaaS metrics such as ARR, MRR, churn, retention, CAC, LTV, and gross margin.
Strong systems orientation with experience implementing or optimizing ERP, accounting, and financial reporting tools.
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of ownership and autonomy.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across all levels of an organization.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience at a venture-backed or high-growth SaaS/payments company.
Experience scaling finance teams and infrastructure through periods of rapid growth.
Experience with subscription billing platforms, payment processors, or fintech business models.
CPA, MBA, or equivalent finance/accounting background preferred.
