Our client is a well-established private equity firm in the Greater Baltimore area managing nearly $3.0 billion in assets under management. They are seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to join their growing finance team.

The Role: This position will oversee all accounting operations for the firm and its portfolio companies, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, and seamless coordination with external auditors and tax advisors. The Director of Accounting will play a critical role in month-end and year-end close processes, fund accounting, and financial statement preparation while partnering closely with senior leadership on strategic financial initiatives.

What You Bring:

• 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with exposure to private equity, investment management, or financial services
• CPA required; Big Four or public accounting background strongly preferred
• Deep knowledge of GAAP, fund accounting principles, and SEC reporting requirements
• Proven ability to manage complex accounting operations and lead process improvements
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring accounting staff
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
