Join a private equity-backed manufacturer at an exciting point in its evolution. Based in Salt Lake City, our client is seeking a Director of Accounting & Finance to strengthen and modernize the company's finance function following a recent acquisition. Leadership has invested heavily in the business and is looking for an experienced finance leader to build the reporting, planning, and operational infrastructure needed to support a more sophisticated organization.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Accounting & Finance will lead the accounting and finance function, establishing disciplined, GAAP-compliant accounting processes and partnering closely with executive leadership to improve financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, operational analytics, and business performance. This individual will play a key role in strengthening the organization as it scales, balancing day-to-day accounting leadership with long-term strategic planning. For the right person, this is an opportunity to become a trusted member of the executive team, partnering directly with the CEO to help shape the company's direction.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the accounting and finance function, establishing disciplined accounting processes, including month-end close, financial reporting, inventory accounting, and internal controls to support a growing private equity-backed business.
  • Partner directly with the CEO and executive leadership to develop budgets, rolling forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial insights that support strategic decision-making and business growth.
  • Evaluate the current finance organization and implement improvements to the team structure, systems, and business processes that create a more efficient, scalable finance function.
  • Lead the company's upcoming ERP implementation, serving as the finance lead to improve financial workflows, system integration, and cross-functional business processes.
  • Develop meaningful financial and operational KPIs, dashboards, and reporting that provide leadership with greater visibility into business performance and key trends.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience within manufacturing, wholesale distribution, consumer products, or other inventory-intensive environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Hands-on experience leading GAAP-compliant financial reporting, month-end close, internal controls, and inventory accounting.
  • Demonstrated success building scalable finance organizations, improving processes, and developing meaningful financial reporting and KPIs.
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership to support operational and strategic business decisions.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and experience leading or supporting ERP implementations.
  • Comfortable operating in environments undergoing significant change, process improvement, and organizational transformation.
  • CPA designation and experience within a private equity-backed organization are strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI, commercial reporting, and revenue analysis is a plus.
  • Willingness to work primarily on-site in Salt Lake City, UT.

Our client offers a competitive base salary plus discretionary bonus and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits.
