Job Summary A growing organization is hiring a Director of Accounting to lead a team responsible for month-end close, journal entries, and general ledger accuracy across a portfolio of business units. This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced accounting professional who wants to own a process end-to-end and build out a team.
What You'll Do
Lead, coach, and develop a team of accountants handling journal entry preparation, review, and posting
Own the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper support for all entries
Perform and oversee balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
Serve as the go-to resource for complex accounting questions and technical guidance
Partner cross-functionally with business unit leaders on financial reporting needs
Drive process improvement, standardization, and automation opportunities
Support internal and external audit requests
Set and manage team performance goals and provide ongoing coaching
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA preferred, not required
7+ years of progressive accounting experience
2+ years leading or managing an accounting team
Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and month-end close processes
Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Prior experience in a shared services, multi-entity, or large-portfolio accounting environment a plus
