Founded in 2001 and rooted in the Christian faith, Yellowstone Schools serves more than 700 students in pre-K through 12th grade on a historic campus in Houston's Third Ward, one of the city's oldest historically Black neighborhoods. Yellowstone Schools consists of a lower school, a private Christian school serving pre-K through 5th grade, and an upper school, a tuition- free public charter school serving grades 6 -12 through IDEA Public Schools. Together, the schools operate through a shared- services partnership to provide students with a seamless, high- quality educational experience. POSITION OVERVIEW Yellowstone Schools is seeking a Director of Admissions and Enrollment to lead admissions and enrollment strategies across the Lower and Upper Schools. This role directly supervises the Registrar and the Admissions Assistant, and requires close, on -the- ground collaboration with the IDEA Public Schools team to ensure students are fully and accurately integrated into Yellowstone's enrollment systems throughout the ongoing transition. The Director also leads Yellowstone's work with the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program, including board reporting and partnership with the Finance team on family payments. This role plays a key part in ensuring a seamless admissions experience for prospective and current families and driving strong outcomes against enrollment targets. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree required. ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES AND ATTRIBUTES Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with families, staff, and external partners. Working knowledge of both public charter and private school admissions and enrollment processes, including the distinct regulatory, compliance, and family -experience considerations of each. Demonstrated success leading and managing teams, including setting clear expectations, holding team members accountable, and driving results in a fast -paced environment. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple enrollment initiatives while meeting deadlines. High level of comfort with data analysis and reporting; ability to use data to inform strategy, monitor progress toward enrollment goals, and adjust tactics in real time. Proficiency with enrollment, CRM, and student information systems (e.g., SchoolMint, Skyward, PowerSchool, Salesforce, or similar platforms); ability to troubleshoot issues and optimize systems for efficiency. Familiarity with PEIMS (Public Education Information Management System) documentation and state attendance- reporting requirements, or the ability to quickly develop this expertise to effectively oversee the Registrar. Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and refine systems and processes to improve enrollment operations and team effectiveness. Strong attention to detail and follow- through, particularly in managing application pipelines, family communications, and compliance -related documentation. Strategic thinker with the ability to translate organizational priorities into actionable enrollment plans and measurable outcomes. Ability to navigate ambiguity and lead through change, particularly during periods of growth or organizational transition, including school integration efforts. Sound judgment and cultural competency when communicating with diverse audiences. Emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills to develop and sustain impactful relationships with diverse constituencies. Reliable transportation and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Must be able to work on campus in Houston, TX. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and manage Yellowstone's admissions and enrollment strategy across both the Lower and Upper Schools, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and enrollment targets. Oversee the full admissions process, including applications, forms, testing, interviews, and records transfer, ensuring a seamless and high- quality experience for families. Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective families, guiding them through the admissions process from inquiry to enrollment. Develop, implement, and continuously improve admissions systems and procedures, incorporating best practices and streamlining the family experience across both public charter and private school enrollment pathways. Maintain accurate enrollment data and reporting systems; regularly analyze and share insights on enrollment trends with senior leadership and the board. 3000 Trulley St, Houston, Texas 77004 | 713.741.8000 | www.yellowstoneschools.org Plan and execute student recruitment strategies, including school tours, information sessions, and targeted outreach initiatives. Build and maintain community partnerships with local schools, churches, businesses, and organizations to generate awareness and prospective student interest. Represent Yellowstone at fairs, community events, and partner organization gatherings. Oversee street teams, ambassadors, and referral programs to expand staff - and family -led recruitment efforts. Serve as Yellowstone's lead point of contact for the IDEA transition and integration, partnering closely with the IDEA Public Schools team on the ground to ensure incoming students are fully and accurately enrolled in Yellowstone's enrollment systems and p latforms. Work directly with the IDEA team to identify and resolve parent and family challenges that arise during the transition, ensuring families feel supported and informed throughout the process. Coordinate with internal teams to confirm that IDEA -transitioning students' records, documentation, and enrollment data are fully and accurately integrated into Yellowstone's systems before and throughout the transition. Lead Yellowstone's work related to the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program, including family education, application support, and compliance tracking. Serve as the primary liaison between Yellowstone, families, and relevant state agencies for TEFA -related processes, maintaining up -to-date knowledge of program changes, policy updates, and emerging trends. Provide high -level overviews and regular board reports on TEFA participation, compliance, and program performance. Partner with the Finance team to ensure TEFA payments are processed accurately and on time, and to resolve any payment or reconciliation issues. Develop and execute strategies to maximize TEFA participation and ensure high rates of family compliance. Directly supervise and manage the Registrar, ensuring accurate and timely PEIMS documentation, attendance record -keeping, and compliance with state reporting requirements. Directly supervise and manage the Admissions Assistant, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance expectations to support a high- functioning admissions team. Partner with and lead regular communication with internal teams (Registrar, Admissions Assistant, principals, school operations), including facilitating meetings and providing timely updates on applicant pipelines, enrollment progress, and key decisions. Ensure all student data is handled with the highest level of confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance. Own the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of admissions testing days, tours, and applicant outreach, ensuring strong organization, staffing, and follow -through. Lead the admissions committee process, including preparing materials, guiding discussion, and ensuring timely and clear enrollment decisions. Other duties as assigned. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
