Our organization is in search of a Director for Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant to oversee our premier program at a leading medical center in Newark, NJ. This prominent position merges local program management with regional strategic oversight at one of the top ten heart transplant facilities in the nation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Leadership: Offer medical guidance for our Heart Transplant, Advanced Heart Failure, and Mechanical Circulatory Support initiatives, ensuring outstanding clinical results and adherence to regulatory standards (UNOS/CMS).

  • System Strategy: Enhance our outreach programs across the region, develop referral pathways, and advance the Cardiogenic Shock initiative. Standardize protocols throughout the network while overseeing the program's growth, financial viability, and performance metrics.

  • Collaborative Care: Work alongside the Surgical Director in a co-management framework to guide transplant selection and synchronize medical and surgical quality initiatives within heart replacement therapy.

  • Academic Development: Foster and enhance the academic and research endeavors of the Section, including clinical studies, faculty growth, and support for our ACGME accredited fellowship in Clinical Electrophysiology.

Candidate Requirements
  • Board Certification: Must hold certifications in Cardiovascular Disease and Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology.

  • Academic: A scholarly background that qualifies for a senior faculty position at a recognized medical school.

  • Leadership: Demonstrated clinical excellence and previous leadership experience in a high-volume transplant or Advanced Heart Failure program.

  • Licensure: Must be eligible for medical licensure in NJ and hospital privileges within the Northern Region of our network.

Compensation & Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is between $600,000 and $800,000 annually. Additionally, this role qualifies for extra compensation based on performance and productivity incentives.
